The comprehensive management of the territory aims to contribute to territorial development and business sustainability throughout the value chain of Refinería de Cartagena S.A.S. (“Refinería de Cartagena” or the “Company”), through building trust-based relationships with Stakeholders (“SH”) present in the territories and executing investments to generate shared prosperity. The Strategy for Comprehensive Territorial Management is implemented through the following core components:
For Refinería de Cartagena, the relationship with diverse Stakeholders (SH) is the cross-cutting axis that enables building trust-based, long-term relationships with the various actors in the areas where it operates.
Understanding the territory in its social, cultural, economic, political, environmental, and institutional dimensions allows us to identify risks, as well as the impact generated by the Company’s presence in the region, with the purpose of managing operational activities responsibly and sustainably. This knowledge also helps identify opportunities to improve territorial conditions and contribute to sustainable development.
In this sense, the Comprehensive Territorial Management Strategy encompasses a set of actions aimed at creating favorable conditions for the Company’s growth while simultaneously generating conditions for sustainable development in the territories.
Through comprehensive territorial management, Refinería de Cartagena contributes to achieving the proposed goals of the Ecopetrol Group’s 2040 Strategy, under the strategic pillar of Creating Value through SosTECnibility®.
